Bon Voyage Show

July 1, 2012

Hi Everyone,

Jamie Hutchings and the Goldfish Memories play the Sandringham Hotel next Thursday, July 5th. It’s our last show before we head to France and China and one of the rare local shows we’re playing this year.

It’s a great bill presented by Radiant with special guests Melodie Nelson, as well as Family.

My sister, Sophie Hutchings will be joining Reuben, Scott and me onstage on a few choice tunes at this show and in France as well. Look for her beautiful new album ‘Night Sky‘ coming out in August

Tune in to  Fbi 94.5 at 4pm Thursday the afternoon of the Sydney show when I will be interviewed and will play an acoustic song or two.

Look at our calendar for dates in France and China. It’s gonna be grouse.

There will be a fair bit of stuff at the Sando show at the merch stand, Bluebottle and solo if you want to do the Bandcamp thing face to face.

Rug up,

Jamie

Last Shows Before Overseas Tour

June 1, 2012

Yes Hello,
Some news…

Jamie Hutchings and The Goldfish Memories (as we’ve decided to be called for the moment) have been busy in a Marrickville warehouse trying to work out my tricky new songs. We are heading to France and China in August for a little while and so we thought we’d make a brief and rare (for this year) return to local stages.

Thanks to everyone who has rewarded us for our efforts in getting everything up on Bandcamp both with the solo stuff and the Bluebottle Kiss stuff. Please help me clean up my room by buying more CDs.

Here’s a more official version of what I just said, plus specifics on the shows so far. France and China show info will land on my desk any minute now.

Yours truly,

Jamie

LAST SHOWS BEFORE O.S. and BLUEBOTTLE KISS RE-RELEASES

Ahead of a return tour to France where they will share the stage with the likes of Ty Seagull , Kid Congo Powers and more plus a maiden voyage to China, Bluebottle Kiss frontman Jamie Hutchings and his recently christened backing band ‘The Goldfish Memories‘ (featuring bassist Reuben Wills and drummer Scott Hutchings) will make a rare live appearance over a small run of shows through Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

Running through past, present and future material including his recently critically acclaimed album Avalon Cassettes, as well as giving a hefty nod towards more noise rock influenced material both from his Bluebottle Kiss days and a forthcoming to be recorded album, this will be one of the rare chances to catch Jamie locally this year.

Whilst serving as a farewell before their trip these shows will also celebrate the digital re-release of Hutchings’ entire back catalogue both with Bluebottle Kiss and as a soloist on Bandcamp and iTunes with many titles available for the first time in over a decade. More information on this can be found on Facebook

BluebottleKiss For Sale + Other Stuff

April 1, 2012

As many of you may be aware Bluebottle Kiss, the band I led for a couple of lifetimes, has a sprawling often hard to find back catalogue. With some generous help from my good friend Mark I am happy to announce you can pretty much get every one of our releases online now in some format, except our first album which is still being worked on.

The majority of it is now available at Bandcamp. The remaining CDs available on this site we have priced super cheap too, so get the real thing while it exists. Everything is available as a digital download too of course.

Our early releases on the Murmur label which have been long out of print (with the exception of ‘Higher Up The Firetrails’ which is still not up in any format) are now available on iTunes.

Whilst searching through the Non Zero records office for stock I also found another box of ‘The Golden Coach’, my first solo album, which I thought was gone. This is now available on compact disc for just $15 here.

We are in the throes of organising my fourth O.S trip to France and hopefully some other territories in August and working on new material as well.

We are planning on a couple of live shows before we head over. These will be our only shows at these stage locally so watch this space.

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

Greetings From The Slumbering Mammoth

February 21, 2012

Greetings. If you’ve nosed around this website previously you may have noticed the flurry of activity has been around on par with that of a slumbering mammoth. This is due in part to myself having the technical nous of a lizard. However the mammoth is starting to stir. Some of my good colleagues have flexed their geek muscles a little (thank you Mark, Chris and Andrew) and this site is now nearly fully operational.

In terms of news I have begun rehearsals for my next opus alongside the red hot Reuben Wills on bass and drum shredder Jared Harrison. We will expand the line up a little on the record but the core will be us three. I have around two cd’s worth of demo’s which we are slowly but surely ploughing through. Some of you may be cheered by the news that I am rediscovering the  joys of torturing my Fender Jazzmaster and these new tunes reflect that, still… ’tis early days.

I’m also donning my producer hat again for the next album by my very talented friend Mark Moldre. Mark is keen on me applying some sandpaper to his tunes so we’ll be getting cracking on that soon. I will report back when there is any further news.
Regards
J.H
